For a Peaceful Flight: Essential Tips for a Calm Journey

If you want a calm and trouble-free journey, start by keeping a serious and composed attitude from your departure airport all the way to your destination.
Before Your Flight
Take a shower and use the restroom before leaving home. Aircraft lavatories are not designed to be comfortable for everyone, and expectations should stay realistic. Before entering the airport, have a proper meal. Hungry people tend to get irritated faster — and airports are not the best place to fix that.
Make sure all your cash and valuable jewelry are fully declared before your flight. Even if you have checked baggage allowance, avoid packing unnecessary items. Remember: around 33 million bags go missing worldwide every year.
During Your Journey
Avoid getting into direct arguments with other passengers. If something bothers you, ask airport staff or cabin crew for help instead. They're there for that reason.
Stay away from carrying suspicious items. On flights to certain countries, carrying lighters or electronic cigarettes in your hand luggage is prohibited, and these rules are enforced strictly. Try not to bring any liquids into the cabin, no matter the amount. Even if it's expensive, buy your drinks on the plane. Peace of mind sometimes really does come with a price.
Avoid using marijuana at least one day before your flight. In some countries, detection dogs may show unnecessary interest, even if you believe you're "fine."
On the Aircraft
Always speak to the flight crew with a warm and respectful attitude. If needed, they can be incredibly helpful — and yes, in some situations, your life is literally in their hands.
At some airports, elderly passengers may be treated more leniently during security checks and X-ray screenings. Don't take this personally. Think twice before reclining your seat. It might trigger an unnecessary argument with an unstable passenger — and it's rarely worth it.
After Landing
After landing, don't rush to stand up immediately. Until the aircraft door opens, no one is going anywhere.
By following these guidelines, you'll ensure a peaceful and respectful flight experience for yourself and fellow passengers.
